Programs

Eagle Outreach Ministries relies on the support of volunteers and businesses throughout the King County, Washington area. The generosity with which you give – both in prayers, time, and money – provides much needed support of our programs for children of incarcerated parents. As you can imagine, it takes a lot of resources to provide Angel Tree kids an opportunity to experience 40 hours of Godly life skills at camp with Christian counselors and role models. Our vision is to make sure that every child with a parent in prison has that opportunity.

This season we are trusting God to bring enough volunteers to help us take 100 children to camp.

2008 Summer Camp Schedule

This season we are trusting God to bring enough volunteers to help us get 100 kids to camp. You are invited to chaperone on the following trips:

As a volunteer chaperone, you may sign up for one or more trips. When you sign up for both a departure and return trip, then you get to witness first hand how a week at camp can transform these children. For more information or to sign up, please e-mail at chaperones@eagleoutreach.org or call John at 206-329-5903.

How It Works

The families whose children were given gifts during the previous Christmas season are contacted by volunteers to inquire if their camp-age children would be interested in attending summer camp for one week. Many families already have expressed interest in camping when our volunteers visited during Christmas.

Once we finalize the registrations, Eagle Outreach Ministries prepares a camping package for each child. We provide transportation to camp, assist in check-in, and then release the children to the custody of the camp. When the week is over, we pick up the children and return them home.

Each camper gets:

This camping package costs about $400 for each child. Only about 30% of the families can afford the $40 deposit per child (Maximum $80 per family) that we ask of them.

Volunteer Opportunities

This summer Angel Tree children will register for one of several camp weeks. This will require bus or van rides departing to and returning from camp. Our goal is to have one-adult to four-child ratio. This gives us a need to have four to six chaperones on each trip.

The trips taking children to camp usually leave about noon on Sunday – we are back no later than 6 p.m. The return trips are either Friday or Saturday (depending on the camp session schedule). For the return trips we leave at 8 a.m. and are back by 6 p.m.

Are you ready to volunteer? E-mail at chaperones@eagleoutreach.org or call John at 206-329-5903.

We need a team of volunteers to make Angel Tree Camping a success. Each team has a coordinator assigned who will provide detailed instructions for the volunteers. You will never be left alone to figure it out for yourself. To encourage other volunteers and help us coordinate all the activities, we request that you sign up as early as possible.
